Alberta Black Bear BowhuntsHunt

come black bear bowhunting with North Star Outfitters! We take 24
bears hunters with about 5-6 hunters per week in ranch country just
north of the rich farmland where the food is very plentiful.
Our bear bowhunting area is about 500,000 acres. I own 90% of the permits therefore I hold the key to managing the black bear bowhunting in this area. I have 50% color phase bears and 25% of our bears harvested are over 7ft. We have a 2 bear per hunter quota but I only allow you to harvest 1 - 6 ft colored and the other must be black if you choose to harvest the 2nd bear. During your black bear bowhunts, you will see between 4-8 bears in a evening and in a full week you will see up towards of 30-40 bears. Our bowhunting season runs the same time as our rifle bear hunts; from the 15th of April until the 15th of June. All our bowhunts are over bait with bait sites at a minimum of 4 miles apart. Shooting distances from stands for bow hunters are from 20-25 yds. Every one thinks bowhunting black bears over bait is like shooting fish in a barrel, well if it was only about killing that might be the case. But harvesting a trophy bear takes careful placement of stands to outsmart the trophy bears we want.
