The Marwayne Agri-Plex is a multi-use community centre that blends agricultural, recreational and cultural spaces with village services within a regional facility. The new facility adjoins the existing arena, curling rink and campgrounds, creating an exciting community hub. The Marwayne Agricultural Society sees the Agri-Plex project as a good way to preserve a sense of community and position Marwayne to remain strong and vital in future.
Marwayne’s community spirit showed itself through significant donations to the project. Area businesses contributed over $32,500 that night including donations from Penny Ford of Riverhill Enterprises Ltd. ($10,000); Mike Holden and Dale Beaudry of ATB Financial Lloydminster ($10,000);Rick Hozack of Kim-Ko Hay Farms ($5,000); Jason Hancock of Hancock Petroleum Inc. ($5,000); and Neil Johnson of North Star Outfitting ($2,500).
